MATT AND JAMIE MATERNITY SESSION | YORK PA

Matt & Jamie had been through enough with the loss of their first pregnancy. So when they were blessed with TWO little miracles soon thereafter, getting out and photographing Jamie with her big belly was a must. I met them at my studio then we packed up and left. We had three locations in mind but only made it to two. The first location was Reservoir Park across from York College.

Little did we know that we would have to park and walk to reach the area I wanted to shoot in. For anyone who has been to Reservoir Park, you know how long of a walk it is. But Jamie was a trooper, besides carrying herself she had to carry 2 boys and those 2 boys went along for the ride, kicking and stretching tossing and turning. If you were there you would have never noticed because she carries those boys well. Congratulations to Matt & Jamie on their twin boys who will be here soon. To God be the glory!

YORK CITY STREET PHOTOGRAPHY | YORK PA

I got these shots at York's First Friday of June. Every first Friday all of the artists come out and make art in the streets. The stores stay open a few hours longer, and everyone gets together for a fun time. The city of York diverts traffic around this area so that everyone is able to walk in the street. It's a fun time to meet and greet and see all the artists. If you're ever in the area on the First Friday of the month don't hesitate to come down. I'm sure you will enjoy the arts as I do.

BRASHAE AND DESHAWN SENIOR PROM

Brashae and Deshawn Senior Prom

I had a fun opportunity to photograph this young lady and her friend going to their senior prom. With all of the publicity and people at the event you would have thought I was photographing a celebrity. I guess your senior prom does make you feel like a celebrity especially when you're surrounded by family and friends.

THE POWER OF CELL PHONES

You will be amazed at the power of a cell phone. People have been pushing the limits more and more to prove that it is not about the equipment but what you do with the equipment. The limits are endless. I have seen fstoppers shoot the iphone fashion shoot with an iPhone 4 and it looks great. If you have the right equipment you can do anything.

The more you practice the better you are. If you put your mind to it, it can be done. Check out the iphone 5s Bentley ad courtesy of BGR the ad was shot on an iPhone 5s and edited using iMovie. When you think that this video was shot on an iPhone it is mind blowing. And when I see things like this and all the photos and videos Simeon Quarrie is doing in the UK (not with an iPhone) it really inspires me to do better. I have the equipment I just need to get out and start shooting.

What kind of projects have you done with your mobile phone. Post your link in the comments below.

Perfect Studio Location

My studio is in the heart of downtown York,PA. While York is not a big town it's full of artist with big passion. I have met many people of all color and backgrounds and we all have one thing in common, art.

The people here in York love the art, and my studio is one of the newest members on the block. My studio is located one block South of the White Rose Restaurant and Central Market. I'm across the street from the Green Bean coffee shop and the police station. I have a camera store that's a block away and my barber shop is just a few doors down. I'm hoping to be here for a long time and I'm looking forward to help build up the community.

Here is a few shots of the area.

Livingston Lee Photography Studio

New year new things!

I'll soon be moving into my brand new store front studio. This has been a long time coming. To God be the glory for this. There will be a grand opening to follow with spring and summer sales. The studio is 750 Sq ft and is right off 83 North coming from Baltimore, 83 South coming from Harrisburg, and 30 West coming from Lancaster.

This should be a busy wedding season for me and my team. We're really looking forward to growing, learning, and meeting new people like you. I will be offering a special discount for folks coming from out of town to compensate for travel.

I know there are many photographers in your area and for you to pass up all of those photographers and come to York really speaks loyalty. So the least I can do is offer a special discount for out of town customers. It will be quite a learning experience to run a photography studio that's a storefront, but I'm up for the challenge. Thanks for all of your support and loyalty. See you at the studio soon.

What is it about Photography that keeps us coming back.

Is it the art, the adrenaline or is it the satisfaction? It’s different for us all, but we love it and we all have a different reason for why we do it. For me, as a professional, it’s the satisfaction of handing over the finished product. Photography is now all around us. Look at how many pictures we post on Instagram, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and Twitter. Since the inception of the smartphone we have gone picture crazy and it’s a beautiful thing.

Usually my clients don’t know what to expect when they book me for a wedding or a photo session. Yes, they have seen my work. But each session is different, just as every sunset, each face, and every expression is different. As a photographer it is my job to pull the moment out of my subject, so they see exactly what it is that makes them different. Photography records life and moments in a snapshot of time that you can never get back. The idea of photography has been around since the early 1800s and has been revolutionized by modern day technology companies like Canon, Nikon and Sony. Before that, pictures were drawn to capture history. But like an artist who draws a picture, photographers draw pictures with light. If the light is not right, the image is not right. There are artist all over the world with different passions and capabilities to record history and as an artist, I make it my priority to do just that. After all the cropping, retouching, and color correction and countless hours I spend producing images, I just want to see the expression on a client’s face when they see the finished product. That moment is priceless. And I love being able to bring that joy to my clients. Memories of family, memories of marriage, memories of babies and children, memories of yourself as you age gracefully, and so many more. These are just some of the reasons why I like, I mean, LOVE photography. This art is not for everyone. I find myself up all night looking at tutorials, practicing, reading books, studying light, and surrounding myself with photography. I have been spending thousands of dollars on new gear and constantly beating myself up about being better? There is nothing else physical I rather do. This is my passion.
